Top 10 beaches in Devon with kids

top 10 kids friendly beaches to go to with kids in Devon south West England uk

Devon is one of my favourite places in the world. It's jam-packed full of little nooks and crannies just waiting for some venturesome times to take place. The combination of Dartmoor and the South West coast is pretty mega. Taking our kids to really fun beautiful beaches is the substance of our best days, I can't think of a better place to be. Rocks, sand, waves, yes please!

Beach trips are hands down my favourite activity. Hunting for snappy little crabs

Tunnels beach in lifracombe with kids

1 - Tunnels Beach, Ilfracombe

You arrive at this beach through a series of interconnected tunnels that were hand carved in the 19th Century (there's a small entrance fee, charged since 1823). When you arrive at the beach you'll be welcomed by a Victorian tidal pool and the 3rd best rock pools in the UK (according to Wildlife magazine, I wonder how they judge that?). The tidal pool is visible 3 hours before and after low tide so make sure you check the tide times before you go!
